ABOUT

GGMU
Gavin Maclean, Adam Warren, Ryan Brown

Glory Gloryis the darkly energetic, pop-infused product of three ostensibly grown men and their inexplicable need to create sounds that excite them. Think of Q and Not U covering the Beatles, or Bloc Party doing Elliott Smith... in space.

Glory Glory has been performing, recording and touring at an obsessive-compulsive rate since 2006. The group has released three EP's, and full-lengths both on their own and as a backing band for recording engineer and ex-Heavy Blinker Andrew Watt's solo piano-pop project. They have also appeared on several compilation albums and showcased at NXNE, East Coast Music Awards, Halifax Pop Explosion and Nova Scotia Music Week. Their self-recorded, self-produced 2010 debut album "ZOMBIES!!! " garnered airplay, critical acclaim and two Nova Scotia Music Award nominations (Alternative Recording, Group Recording).

2011 saw Glory Glory release the digital EP "You Need a Heart to Live" and several music videos, touring often and playing their biggest shows to date. 2012, so far, has brought the group a new alter ego as members of old friend and erstwhile producer Jon Epworth's metal-influenced prog-rock band Failure Epics. Glory Glory will be spending the spring working on material for a new release.

PRESS:

"Arguably the most impressive indie pop band to come out of the East Coast since Two Hours Traffic, this Halifax trio sits easily along a musical continuum that includes Thrush Hermit and Sloan. More importantly, like all of those bands, they seem to have arrived fully formed." -- THE TORONTO STAR

"[Y]ou get the feeling after a few spins of Zombies!!! that this Halifax, NS-bred three-piece could write perfect, hook-driven pop songs in their sleep. The manner in which they crank out the ten classics on Zombies!!! is so pure and seamless that it's a little disconcerting." - EXCLAIM!

"A meticulous example of how well indie-rock can resonate when done right." - SKELETON CREW QUARTERLY

"Just a single listen to one of the Glory Glory's spastic rock/pop hybrids and you are theirs forever... Early symptoms of indie pop zombie transformation include uncontrollable urges to air guitar and drum, singing along off key, and keeping Zombies!!! playing in an endless loop. Or at least that's what happened to me." - THE SCRAPYARD
